BOAT FACILITIES RULES AND REGULATIONS
BOAT FACILITIES RULES AND REGULATIONS
1) Multiple jet skis are permitted to be moored in slips when properly stored on a boat lift with the same specifications as the type required for boats.
2) Boats moored on the ramp may not exceed fourteen feet (14’) in length and must be positioned in a manner so as not to obstruct the walkway or boat launch area.
3) Boats moored on buoys may not exceed twenty-three feet (23’) in length, according to manufacturer’s LOA specifications, and must be fastened with lines to prevent the boats from drifting within an unsafe distance from the pier and swim platform. The Pier Committee shall have exclusive authority to determine the unsafe distance from the pier and swim platform.
4) All boats in slips must be on an approved lift. The lifts must fit within the current structure of the pier, including lake bed crib foundations, and must comply with our designated pier contractor requirements. Canopies on lifts are prohibited.
5) Boats on lifts may not exceed twenty-five feet (25’) in length as defined by the boat manufacturer’s LOA specifications as stated on the boat title. The Board of Directors will require proof of the manufacturer’s LOA specifications (boat title, not registration). No exceptions.
6) The bows of some boats may occasionally extend over the pier edge. The boat slip lessee and lift owners are obligated to maintain a safe right-of-way on the pier. The Wooddale Board shall have the authority to regulate this if it becomes a safety issue to the membership.
7) Structural changes to the pier, such as horizontal beams, are prohibited without prior Wooddale Board approval. Slight modifications may be considered and the designated pier contractor will be consulted for their professional recommendations and then must be approved by the Wooddale Board. Any costs associated with an approved change will be incurred solely by the individual Wooddale lessee seeking changes.
8) The mooring of boats is prohibited on any portion of Wooddale pier. Pick-up and drop-offs are only allowed on the west side of the deck at the end of the pier and alongside the west extension of the pier.
9) Prior to the installation of a new boat lift, the lessee shall submit specifications of the boat lift to the Board of Directors for its approval. The Board shall grant approvals based on safety, structural integrity of the pier and aesthetic appearance.
10) The lifts may be powered manually, by battery or solar power. Any battery power shall be provided from within the boat or separate battery box unit and not from any power cord extensions on the pier. Solar or battery powered units may be placed on a triangular structure level to the floor boards of the pier and attached to the pier consistent with other boat slips in Wooddale. The expense to install the solar box structure shall be paid for by the individual Wooddale lessee.
11) Installation and removal of lifts shall be made by the same pier contractor as employed by the Wooddale Beach Corporation for the annual installation and removal of the pier. The dates for annual installation and removal of the lifts shall be coordinated by the Pier Committee. Storage of lifts shall be the responsibility of the owners. Lifts shall not be stored on Corporation property.
12) Owners of lifts shall be responsible for maintaining them in good and safe condition and shall be responsible for all costs in connection with them. They shall promptly pay all charges in connection with the lifts including charges for installation, maintenance and removal.
13) Boat slip lessees may be subject to such further reasonable rules and regulations as may be adopted by the Wooddale Board of Directors.
